Through personalized preparation in the form of one-on-one consultations, application checks, and mock interviews, we ensure that you have tailored and compelling application documents and are well-prepared for future application situations. Take advantage of our services to boost your success!
Individual Consultation
Our goal is to equip you with the skills needed to succeed in your future job applications. What are your strengths – and your weaknesses? What are your goals? Where do you want your career to take you? Together, we want to sharpen your personal profile and identify potential career paths that will support your decision-making process.
Application Checks
Your application is your business card and the key to being invited to an interview. That’s why it’s important to pay special attention to the structure, clarity, order, and completeness of your documents. We’ll be happy to review your application with you and offer tips on how to improve it.
Mock Interviews
Afraid of your first job interview? No need! In mock interviews, we will train typical questions and answer strategies with you as if it were a real interview. Afterwards, you’ll receive detailed feedback on your performance.

Booking Appointments for Individual Consultations, Application Checks, and Mock Interviews
• Please book an appointment via our e-learning course and briefly state what the appointment is about.
• For individual consultations, please upload your CV. For application checks or mock interviews, also upload your cover letter and the corresponding job posting.
• Then send us an email explaining how we can support you: karriereservice@uni-bayreuth.de
• We will get back to you with information on how the appointment will take place.
• The appointment will take place at the booked time.
Our Services for International and Refugee Students
As part of the DAAD-funded projects INTEGRA and PROFI, we offer special services for refugees and international students in cooperation with the International Office and the Campus Academy.
These include training sessions, workshops, seminars, lectures, and open office hours.

Just book an appointment via our e-learning course.As part of the event series “Preparing for Your Career Entry”, several mock interview sessions are held each year specifically for refugees and international students.

The event series “Preparing for Career Entry” is designed to support participants in entering the German job market by providing targeted preparation for the application process. It consists of three parts:
• Lecture: Application Basics
This session covers the fundamentals of job applications in the German labor market, focusing on how to prepare application documents. It also includes guidance on researching job advertisements and offers general tips on the application process.
• Workshop: Applications in German (in cooperation with the Writing Center)
The goal of this workshop is to help participants create their application documents in German. Starting with the practical search for suitable job ads, each participant creates a tailored cover letter and CV. The workshop also includes relevant vocabulary and useful phrases for writing in a professional context.
• Exercise: Mock Interviews (optional)
This training is divided into two parts. The first part explains how to prepare for a job interview, how an interview is structured, what types of questions are common, and what steps follow after submitting your application. In the second part, each participant takes part in a simulated job interview to practice what they’ve learned.
After the event series, participants may schedule individual advising sessions or a CV check if they plan to apply for a position.

The International Office at the University of Bayreuth offers various services for international students and refugees.
As part of the DAAD-funded program “PROFI in STEM”, the Refugee and Migration Support Office of the International Office, the Career Services and Corporate Contacts unit, and the Campus Academy at the University of Bayreuth jointly offer the certificate program “Technology and Management” for refugee academics as a pilot project.
